The Hail Mary project

On March 19, MIST hosted a film screening of Nnamdi Kanaga’s first feature film followed by a discussion with the cast and crew at the Emerson’s Crawford Theatre. Due to Covid restrictions, we were required to limit this event to 50 people. Please scroll through this page and enjoy the trailer and photo gallery to get a sense of this important work that Nnamdi accomplished. We hope to host a public showing when restrictions are lifted.

“I tried to refocus the absent Black father narrative. What most Hollywood films do is they don’t tell you the story about the father. They don’t tell you why he left. They don’t give you anything about the father.” Nnamdi Kanaga
